Performance Based Standards (PBS)
Timber Transport
Arocs have an especially robust chassis built for demanding PBS on-off road timber transport applications, at up to 73500kg GCM (in mountain country, which is where the trees grow). The massive torque of the 15.6 litre OM473 engine available from 800rpm combined with a twin plate clutch, mean that starting massive loads on steep inclines is a non-event.

The parabolic rear springs offer excellent axle articulation for traction, while providing stability by means of a heavy duty stabilizer to limit the rolling which is characteristic of hook-lift trucks with their high center of gravity.
